One of our beagle...Groundhogs can be rough on dogs! One of our beagles, Bongo, had ears that looked like dreadlocks, aka shredded. He always grabbed the dangerous end while his compatriot, Buddy, would hold on the back end. Then Buddy would hog the trophy and not let anyone near it! They had a special baying bark that was different from their rabbit baying sound (aka Swamp Music).. The last time they did this, they had one stretched between them. The groundhog had Bongo by the ear and he had it by the head. I shot it with a pistol while they were all locked together, and they lost all interest once the fight was gone out of it!
